Elon Says AI Could End Money

Elon Musk says advanced AI could make money and work fade away

Elon Musk shared a bold view of the future at a US Saudi investment event. He said that with powerful AI and robots, money and regular jobs may lose their meaning, and people may work only for fun.

Musk believes that when AI and robotics can make goods and services in huge amounts with little human help, money will no longer matter.
He compared the future to the Culture sci-fi world, where AI runs society in a positive way.
He says future work will feel like gardening or video games, something people do for joy, not survival, and that humanoid robots like Tesla Optimus are key to ending poverty.

This matters because Musk expects AI and robots to reshape how we live, earn, and access basic needs. If his view becomes real, our whole idea of work, value, and wealth could change, bringing both big chances and big risks for society.

TODAY’S HIGHLIGHT

Feds Could Control AI Rules

Trump may give the federal government stronger power to control AI rules across the country.

Donald Trump is reviewing a new executive order that would give the federal government broad control over AI regulation. A new AI legal task force under the Attorney General would challenge state laws that slow AI growth, targeting rules like California’s new safety measures and Colorado’s limits on algorithm bias.

• The task force could sue states whose laws are seen as blocking AI development.
• It would work with special White House advisors, including billionaire David Sacks.
• The plan includes a 90 day roadmap for agencies like the FTC, FCC, and Commerce Department.

This matters because it could shift AI power from states to Washington, shape how fast AI grows, and decide which states keep access to key federal funds for tech expansion.
