WeChat forces labels on AI posts

WeChat now requires AI-generated content to be clearly labeled.

WeChat has announced new rules in China that force users to mark AI-made posts, images, videos, or text. The platform will also apply its own visible or hidden labels to improve transparency. Starting September 1, 2025, penalties will apply if users don’t follow the rules.

  • Users must select a category such as news, entertainment, or opinion when posting AI-made content.

  • WeChat will add extra labeling—visible or invisible—to spot AI use.

  • Breaking the rules, like removing labels or misleading others, can lead to punishment.

This move highlights how China is tightening control over AI content, aiming to prevent misinformation and keep online spaces clear and trustworthy.

  • Customer A contributed 23% of total Q2 revenue, while Customer B added 16%.

  • Four other direct customers together made up another large share of revenue.

  • Nvidia’s data center business, fueled by AI demand, brought in 88% of total revenue.

This shows Nvidia’s incredible growth from the AI boom, but also highlights how heavily it relies on a few big spenders — a risky yet powerful position for the company’s future.
