Google unveils WeatherNext 2, a faster and more accurate AI weather model.
Google has introduced WeatherNext 2, an upgraded AI model that delivers much better weather forecasts for up to 15 days. Powered by Tensor chips in Pixel phones, it runs up to eight times faster and delivers four six hour forecasts each day.
Eight times faster performance using Pixel’s Tensor chips
Up to 15 day forecasts with higher accuracy
Integrated into Pixel Weather, Gemini, and Google’s weather API
This matters because WeatherNext 2 brings supercomputer level forecasting directly to consumer devices. It improves wind, temperature, rainfall, humidity, and pressure predictions across Google services.
