Top Careers Most at Risk from AI

Microsoft study reveals which jobs face the highest risk from AI.
A new Microsoft report analyzed 200,000 AI Copilot conversations and matched them with U.S. job classifications, showing which careers overlap most with generative AI. Roles like technical writers, telemarketers, and data scientists face the highest impact, while physical labor jobs remain the least affected — for now.
Most impacted jobs include writers, editors, telemarketers, journalists, translators, and market research analysts.
Least impacted jobs are manual and hands-on roles such as roofers, surgical assistants, and machine operators.
The study highlights overlap, not replacement — AI supports or automates tasks but doesn’t fully take over any job.
This matters because it signals a shift in how knowledge-based and communication-heavy roles are performed. Workers who adopt AI tools can boost productivity and stay competitive, while those who resist risk falling behind in a rapidly changing labor market.
