OpenAI buys secret Mac AI tool

OpenAI buys the team behind the secret Mac tool Sky to boost ChatGPT’s desktop power.
OpenAI has acquired Software Applications Inc., the maker of Sky, an unreleased Mac automation tool. The company plans to bring Sky’s desktop control features into ChatGPT, giving it the ability to run and automate apps directly on Mac computers.
Sky works as a floating AI interface that reads the screen and performs actions across apps.
ChatGPT may soon handle Mac automation natively, not just through the web.
The deal follows OpenAI’s other hires, like Statsig, Context AI, and Crossing Minds.
This move strengthens OpenAI’s push to become the main AI layer for Mac users, joining its new Atlas browser in building a tighter, smarter desktop experience.

Netflix bets big on AI future

Netflix goes “all in” on AI to power its future in streaming and storytelling.
Netflix plans to use AI across its platform, from smarter recommendations to faster content creation, while promising it will still value human creativity. The move comes as Hollywood continues to debate the role of AI in entertainment.
Netflix will use AI in recommendations, ads, and production workflows.
Some shows already use AI for age-reversing and visual concept design.
CEO Ted Sarandos said AI will enhance creativity, not replace it.
This shift shows how AI is reshaping entertainment, forcing companies, creators, and audiences to rethink what makes stories human in a tech-driven world.
