Hollywood vs Midjourney!

Hollywood Studios Sue AI Startup Midjourney Over Copyright Concerns

Big movie studios like Disney and Universal have filed a major lawsuit against AI image company Midjourney, accusing it of using their copyrighted characters without permission.

  • Disney, Marvel, Lucasfilm, and others say Midjourney trained its AI on their characters.

  • The lawsuit includes examples of AI-generated versions of Yoda, Shrek, Spider-Man, and Minions.

  • Disney’s lawyer said they support AI innovation, but called this “piracy.”

The Browser That Thinks

The Browser Company has launched the beta version of its new AI-powered browser, Dia, designed to act more like a smart assistant than a traditional browser. Dia comes with a built-in chatbot that can see all your tabs, understand your habits, and even take actions for you.

  • Dia’s AI lives in the URL bar, letting users chat with tabs, get quick summaries, and draft content without switching tools.

  • The chatbot can analyze multiple tabs, use your browsing history, and even mimic your writing style for emails.

  • It includes “Skills”, mini AIs for tasks like shopping or coding, that remember what you’re working on.

Dia is part of a bigger shift toward AI-native browsers that help you, not just show you websites. As AI becomes more personal and helpful, big tech companies like Google and OpenAI are sure to bring strong competition. But Dia shows what the future of browsing could look like, smarter, more helpful, and built around you.
