OpenAI's Shocking New Release

OpenAI has just released GPT-OSS, its first open-source model in over 6 years.
It's free to download, customize, and even run on a laptop, marking a major shift in the company's strategy.
Two versions are available: a 120B parameter model and a smaller 20B one
Released under Apache 2.0 license, allowing commercial use and modifications
Can perform reasoning, coding, web search, and agent tasks through OpenAI APIs
This release signals a major shift for OpenAI, which had long resisted open-sourcing due to security concerns. With rising competition from models like LLaMA and DeepSeek, OpenAI now admits it stood “on the wrong side of history.”

Google Gemini Can Draw Stories Now

Google's Gemini chatbot gets a creative upgrade: a new 'Storybook' feature that turns user-written descriptions into illustrated stories.
Storybook creates 10-page stories, each page with a short paragraph and optional voice narration.
Users can customize the visuals by choosing from styles like anime or comics and even upload reference images (like a child's drawing).
The feature is now available on both desktop and mobile, in all languages supported by Gemini.
This marks a major step in blending AI storytelling with creativity tools. While the feature is still in early stages, with occasional visual flaws and inconsistencies, it shows how AI can support imaginative learning, especially for children. As Google improves the technology, it could become a powerful tool for education, entertainment, and even personalized content creation.
