New Tool Makes Buying Super Easy

Bold move by OpenAI brings a new tool that turns ChatGPT into a smart personal shopping helper.
OpenAI has launched Shopping Research, a new feature that makes product search simple by creating custom buying guides based on your needs.
• ChatGPT now asks about your budget, your needs, and how you plan to use the product.
• It gathers fresh data from trusted sites, including price, stock, and specs.
• It gives a clear guide with top products, key strengths, weak points, and easy comparisons.
This matters because it makes online shopping faster and more helpful. It uses a special GPT 5 mini model trained only for shopping tasks, giving better product matches than older models.

Judge Blocks “Cameo” in Sora

OpenAI is blocked from using the word cameo in Sora after a U.S. court order.
A U.S. judge has issued a temporary order that stops OpenAI from using the word cameo or similar words in the Sora app. This comes after Cameo sued OpenAI for using its brand name in a feature that let users make deepfake videos with real faces.
A U.S. judge ruled that OpenAI cannot use cameo in Sora until the order expires on December 22, 2025.
Cameo’s CEO said the court move helps protect users from brand confusion.
OpenAI said it does not agree that Cameo owns exclusive rights to the word cameo.
Protecting brand names matters because it helps users understand what they are using, avoids confusion, and shapes how new tech features are named in the fast growing AI space.
