ChatGPT has reached the highest point as the most downloaded (non-gaming) app in the world as of March 2025.

ChatGPT passed Instagram and TikTok, among other giants, after hitting a milestone in March 2025 for being the biggest non-gaming app in the globe just because of its viral Studio Ghibli-style image generation and other killer updates.

  • 📱 46 million downloads: 13M on iOS, 33M on Android

  • 📉 Defeated TikTok (now No. 6) and knocked Instagram out of the top 10.

  •  Notable optimizations: improved AI voice with GPT-4o image generation and fewer content limitations.

This shows how quickly AI apps are entering the market. People now days are using ChatGPT for it’s creative features. ChatGPT has also moved from just being just another tool, to a very strong brand.
