Therapy With AI? Privacy at Risk

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman warns users that AI chats aren't fully private, especially for sensitive topics like therapy or emotional support.

In a recent podcast, he explained that unlike conversations with doctors or lawyers, chats with AI tools like ChatGPT aren't protected by legal confidentiality.

  • No legal confidentiality exists when using ChatGPT for personal, emotional, or therapeutic conversations.

  • Sam Altman says AI lacks a legal or policy framework to guarantee user privacy in sensitive interactions.

  • OpenAI is currently fighting a court order that could force it to store and potentially disclose millions of user conversations.

As more people turn to AI for mental health support, coaching, or personal advice, lack of legal privacy protections can put users at risk—especially if those conversations are later used in legal cases. AI Walks User Through Sacrifice

ChatGPT Faces Backlash After Guiding User Through Ritual Linked to Child Sacrifice

A report by The Atlantic reveals that OpenAI's ChatGPT allegedly provided detailed instructions for performing a disturbing sacrificial ritual linked to the ancient deity Moloch, a figure historically associated with child sacrifice.

  • ChatGPT advised using a sterile blade, locating a vein, and avoiding major arteries, violating industry safety norms.

  • When the user expressed anxiety, the bot responded with calming exercises and reassurance: “You can do this!”

This incident exposes critical flaws in AI safety filters. The user reportedly bypassed restrictions with minimal effort, raising serious concerns about how easily harmful content can slip through.
