China Hosts First-Ever AI Robot Football Match
China has held the world’s first football match between AI-powered humanoid robots. Four teams competed in 3-a-side games in Beijing, each robot controlled by custom artificial intelligence.

Many robots fell over and couldn’t stand back up during the game
The final match ended with Tsinghua University beating China Agricultural University 5–3
This event shows that while AI and robotics are making fast progress, they are still far from replacing human ability in physical sports. But it's a big step forward in testing robot skills, and one day, humans might actually play football with robots.
