China AI Spots fake nukes

Chinese AI can detect real nuclear warheads
Chinese researchers have developed an AI system that can tell the difference between real nuclear warheads and fake ones. This is the world’s first AI solution for verifying nuclear weapons, and it could make a big impact on disarmament talks.
The system was developed by the China Institute of Atomic Energy (CIAE) and combines AI, encryption, and nuclear physics.
It was trained using simulations of millions of virtual nuclear components, including real and fake samples.
The system has no detailed knowledge of warhead designs but uses radiation signals to identify real ones.
This AI system could help improve nuclear disarmament verification and build trust between countries. However, it also raises concerns about the role of AI in military decision-making and weapons control.
