Teachers to Learn AI in NYC This Fall

Big Tech Companies to Fund New AI Academy for U.S. Teachers
Microsoft, OpenAI, and Anthropic will fund a new National AI Academy to help train American teachers on how to use AI tools in classrooms effectively and ethically. This $23 million project aims to prepare about 40,000 educators over the next five years.
The American Federation of Teachers (AFT) launched the project with support from the tech companies.

U.S. Senator Voice Cloned by AI!

Someone Used AI to Impersonate U.S. Official Marco Rubio
A fake person used AI voice cloning to pretend to be Marco Rubio, the U.S. Secretary of State, and contacted other political leaders. The U.S. State Department is currently investigating this serious case of impersonation.
The scammer contacted at least three foreign ministers, a U.S. senator, and a governor using text, Signal, and voice messages in June.
The fake messages used AI to mimic Rubio's voice, but it's still unknown who is behind the fraud or what was said.
The U.S. government said there is no direct cyber threat to the State Department, but they are taking the issue seriously.
This shows how AI can be used to fake real voices, making it harder to trust digital communication. If high-level officials can be tricked, it could risk national security. This is not the first time AI has been used like this, and it likely won't be the last.
