Anthropic says AI could double U.S. productivity growth, based on a new analysis of 100K Claude conversations.
Anthropic examined how workers actually use AI and found that Claude can cut task time by about 80%, with major gains across fields like software development, operations, marketing, and customer support.
Anthropic analyzed 100K anonymized conversations using its Clio privacy tool and mapped tasks to federal labor data.
Claude reduced average task time from 90 minutes to much less, depending on complexity.
Some tasks saw exceptional savings, including curriculum development (96%), research assistance (91%), and executive admin work (87%).
This research highlights the real and measurable productivity gains emerging across industries, while also raising questions about long term impacts such as potential job displacement.
