AI passes CFA exam in minutes

AI models from OpenAI, Google, and Anthropic can now pass all levels of the CFA exam, including the toughest essay questions.
Research shows frontier models have made a big leap, scoring high on CFA Level III, where they once failed. They finish in minutes what humans take years to prepare for, showing how far AI reasoning has advanced.
Nine models scored above the passing mark of 63% on mock CFA Level III exams
OpenAI’s o4-mini led with 79.1%, followed by Gemini 2.5 Pro and Claude 4 Opus
Human graders rated AI essays 5.6 points higher than automated systems
This highlights how fast AI is moving into areas that demand complex reasoning. As AI handles technical tasks with ease, human skills like judgment and client trust will become more valuable than ever.
